The Dodgers are scheduled to counter with Chris Capuano (4-6, 4. 66), who’s 2-0 with a 3. 82 ERA over his last six starts – all Dodgers wins. However, he’s been reached for 10 runs over 9 1-3 innings in his last two only to have his offense bail him out with 12 total runs.
In the four games prior to those outings, the veteran left-hander had a 1. 90 ERA, and pitched into the seventh inning three times.
Capuano, who turned 35 Monday, should be happy to see the Marlins, a team he’s beaten in each of the last two meetings while allowing one run with 17 strikeouts in 14 1-3 innings. He won 5-0 in his only visit to Marlins Park on Aug. 12, 2012.
Yasiel Puig is 0 for 9 in the past two games and 3 for 23 over his last five, dropping his average from. 373 to. 351.
Juan Uribe may be back in the lineup after getting half of the Dodgers’ six hits Monday. The third baseman is 16 for 31 (#(. 516) in his last 10 games, and owns a. 517 average over his past 13 meetings with the Marlins.
